Muni Shri 108 Kshama Sagar Ji Maharaj

Muni Shri 108 Kshama Sagar Ji Maharaj is a revered ascetic belonging to the Digambara monastic tradition of Jainism. Fully embodying the 28 Mula Gunas (primary ascetic virtues), Mahavratas, and Bhagwan Mahavira's timeless doctrine of Ahimsa (non-violence) and Aparigraha (non-possession), they are venerated widely across the global Jain community.

Prior to renunciation, Muni Shri 108 Kshama Sagar Ji Maharaj was born in the secular world on Sep 20, 1957 at Sagar . Their pre-monastic childhood name was 'Veerendra Kumar Singhai'. They were born into a pious Digambara household to father Shri Shri Jeevan Kumar Singhai and mother Shrimati Shrimati Aashadevi Jain, whose deep spiritual values laid the foundation for their future renunciation. Prior to renunciation, they completed their education in M Tech.

Realizing the transient nature of worldly pursuits, they renounced worldly possessions to embrace the rigorous Digambara ascetic vows. On Nov 7, 1980 at Muktagiri, they were initiated into the preliminary Kshullak/Ailak vows. Subsequently, on Aug 20, 1982 at Nainagiri Digamber Siddha Kshetra, Madhya Pradesh, India, under the sacred auspices of Guru Acharya Shri 108 Vidya Sagar Ji Maharaj, they received the sublime Digambara Muni Diksha.

In accordance with ancient Digambara monastic disciplines, they continuously travel entirely on foot to guide the faithful and preserve the canonical tenets of Jainism.

Pujya Muni Shri 108 Kshama Sagar Ji Maharaj attained sacred Sallekhana / Samadhimaran on Mar 13, 2015 at Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, India in peaceful spiritual equanimity, shedding the mortal frame to progress towards liberation (Moksha). Their memory continues to illuminate the path for aspirants worldwide.
