Acharya Shri 108 Vimal Sagar Ji Maharaj (Anklikar) is a revered ascetic belonging to the Digambara monastic tradition of Jainism. Fully embodying the 28 Mula Gunas (primary ascetic virtues), Mahavratas, and Bhagwan Mahavira's timeless doctrine of Ahimsa (non-violence) and Aparigraha (non-possession), they are venerated widely across the global Jain community.

Born in the secular world on 1915 at Kosma, Uttar Pradesh, India. Their pre-monastic childhood name was 'Virasagar'. They were born into a pious Digambara household to father Shri Biharilal Jain and mother Shrimati Katoridevi Jain, whose deep spiritual values laid the foundation for their future renunciation.

Realizing the transient nature of worldly pursuits, they renounced worldly possessions to embrace the rigorous Digambara ascetic vows. On Feb 23, 1951 at Madhya Pradesh, India, they were initiated into the preliminary Kshullak/Ailak vows. Subsequently, on Mar 21, 1952 at Sonagiri Jain Hill Temples, Sewni, Madhya Pradesh, India, under the sacred auspices of Guru Acharya Shri 108 Mahaveer Kirti Ji Maharaj (Anklikar), they received the sublime Digambara Muni Diksha.

In accordance with ancient Digambara monastic disciplines, they continuously travel entirely on foot to guide the faithful and preserve the canonical tenets of Jainism.

As a spiritual preceptor, they have initiated over 5 monastic disciples (Munis, Aryikas, and tyagis), fostering the growth of the Digambara ascetic order. Their discourses and daily guidance serve as a profound beacon of wisdom for seekers on the spiritual path.

Pujya Acharya Shri 108 Vimal Sagar Ji Maharaj (Anklikar) attained sacred Sallekhana / Samadhimaran on Dec 29, 1994 at Shikharji, Parasnath Hill, Jharkhand, India in peaceful spiritual equanimity, shedding the mortal frame to progress towards liberation (Moksha). Their memory continues to illuminate the path for aspirants worldwide.
